Lee: Your Flight Instructor

Hi, I’m Lee, a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI/CFII) teaching in San Diego.

My dream of becoming a pilot began when I was 12. It led me from a high school aviation club to service as a sergeant in Army Aviation. I later earned a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

Through my own training, I learned that the instructor you fly with makes a real difference. A good instructor does more than teach you how to pass a checkride—they help you build skills and confidence that stay with you long after it. That belief shaped my approach to flight training: fast, efficient, and affordable.

Safety is always my first priority. I’m committed to helping you use your training time well, reach your goals, and become a capable, confident pilot. I hope to be a mentor you can count on throughout your aviation journey.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why train with Lee instead of a flight school?

Traditional flight schools may charge additional fees for coordinating training and assigning instructors. When you train with me, you pay for the aircraft and instruction without those school fees, giving you more flexibility to train around your schedule.

I trained at large flight schools from my first lessons through becoming a flight instructor. Along the way, I experienced extra flights and progress checks that added time and cost to my training. Those experiences shaped my approach: Fast, Affordable, Efficient Flight Training.

Whether you’re taking your first lesson or working toward your next rating, I’ll help you prepare for your checkride and reach your goals as efficiently and affordably as possible.

How long does it take to get my license?

For full-time students, earning a Private Pilot Certificate typically takes 3–5 months. The Instrument Rating and Commercial Pilot Certificate each take approximately two months. For part-time students, the timeline depends on your schedule and how often you fly.

Do you offer ground school?

Yes, I offer ground instruction. I focus on the knowledge you need for your checkride and real-world flying, helping you study efficiently and save time and money.

Can I book a discovery flight?

Absolutely! For a discovery flight, you pay only for the aircraft. I don’t charge an instructor fee. If you’re curious whether aviation is right for you, book a discovery flight with Lee today!
